Fluidform Studios

Yes – you need to do an initial consultation to start at Surry Hills if you want to attend our small group equipment classes. Small group equipment classes consist of one instructor to four clients. Each client is working through their own personalised program based on their posture type, needs and goals.

Clovelly offers small group reformer classes and small mat equipment classes; these classes have up to six people in each class and do not require an initial consultation. If you would like to attend studio pilates, which is one instructor to three clients, you will need to attend an initial consultation. These classes are designed for people who would like a semi private environment, have injuries or are new to Pilates.

Fluidform Surry Hills is a more traditional studio with small group Pilates on all pieces of Pilates equipment. The studio is based on personalised programming and our belief is that posture is the most important element of Pilates. We will work with you to transform your body into a better and stronger version of itself, so that you can live your best life and love your body!

Yes Pilates is safe during pregnancy. Pilates can help keep your strength and posture throughout the changing months of your pregnancy. We encourage our clients to attend studio or equipment Pilates during their pregnancy. These are small group classes where your program can be changed daily based on how your body is feeling and changing. Pilates helps you stay strong and maintain pelvic stability which is crucial during your pregnancy. More importantly Pilates helps you regain your strength and posture quickly in the early days post birth.

We encourage clients to gain approval from their health practitioner or obstetrician before commencing exercise again. This usually happens at six weeks post birth.

If you can drive your car and walk around, we’re happy to see you in the studio. That is our philosophy.

We recommend at least twice a week to feel a change and get the movement of Pilates into your body. If you have more time available we recommend three sessions a week to see a faster transformation.

At Fluidform we see younger clients on a case by case basis, always starting with an Initial Consultation or referral. We currently have children as young as 12 attending our studios.

All Fluidform at Home subscriptions are billed monthly to your nominated credit card or debit card details via our secure online payment. An upfront payment using your credit card, debit card or bank transfer can be made upon request by emailing ffah@fluidform.com.au. An upfront payment requires the full payment of your elected subscription period, made prior to commencing your subscription. Pauses are made in weekly blocks and once all of your weekly blocks have been applied the pause option will no longer be available. Pausing will automatically renew at the end of 12 months. Please note that pausing shifts your date of payment by the number of weeks paused for.

To pause login to your account and then select the head icon in the main navigation bar and then choose ‘Manage Subscriptions’. Select the number of weeks you would like to pause for and press confirm.

Yes, we have a specific beginner program for you to follow, no Pilates experience is necessary. To get started please consult the Beginner Flow document, which will guide you in the workout calendars to complete. If you require more advice, reach out to us via the website and we will be happy to help.

There are currently over 100 different workouts in the program, arranged into challenge guides to help you get the most out of your subscription.

The workouts vary in length from 5 minutes to 40 minutes, the challenges will guide you on the best combination of workouts to complete each day.

If this is your first pregnancy or a second pregnancy following an uneventful delivery, you are fit and healthy and have been given approval from your doctor to exercise, then we are happy for you to follow our prenatal workouts. We recommend following only the prenatal calendars after 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Our prenatal calendars are designed to take into account that there are some exercises that need to be avoided, specifically chest lifts as these place increased pressure on the abdomen and any movement that causes excessive strain in the pelvis such as sliding the legs in and out. As always, listen to your body and during this special time be careful not to over-exert yourself when exercising. If you need any more information or direction then please let us know.

If you have been given the all clear to exercise from your medical practitioner and you also have 1-2 fingers or less separation you are fine to follow the Postnatal Flow.

Please make sure you complete the Postnatal Flow in full before moving onto any other workouts or challenges.

Please be aware that you may not have the strength to make it through the entire workouts yet but with time you will build your strength. If you feel any strain in your lower back or groin area throughout these exercises please take a rest. Listen to your body and be kind to it throughout your post natal exercises journey.

Please be aware that when you first start exercising again after birth, you may not have the strength to make it through the entire workouts yet but with time you will build your strength. If you feel any strain in your lower back or groin area throughout these exercises please take a rest. Listen to your body and be kind to it throughout your postnatal exercise journey.

FFAH is available worldwide. It is an online Pilates workout that can be viewed anywhere, anytime. You require internet access to stream the workout videos.

When you sign up to FFAH we post you your free FFAH equipment pack, which contains equipment for you to use in the workouts. Some workouts require no equipment, and some workouts allow for additional optional equipment. Selected additional equipment can be purchased via our online store.

FFAH also includes a selection of Reformer workouts for those clients that have access to a Pilates Reformer machine.

Some tips for your FFAH equipment:
- Use the enclosed straw to inflate your ball, and seal with the plug provided. Aim to inflate the ball enough that it is round, but still has a small amount of give. Some workouts will ask you to reduce the inflation of the ball.

- Your sliding discs have two sides, place the soft foam-covered side facing down on wooden floors and tiles, place the hard side facing down on carpet and rugs.

We will endeavour to ship your FFAH equipment pack to you within 48 hours of signup. It will be mailed via Express Post within Australia. On the occasions when we do not have the equipment pack in stock the website will advise you of this on sign-up, your order will be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Yes, the FFAH equipment pack can be sent anywhere in the world. For international shipment please allow up to three weeks delivery.

Each customer only gets one equipment pack, sent when they first sign up. If they subsequently cancel then reactive their account they do not receive a second pack.
If you need a new pack, then they can be purchased through our shop.

Our workouts are arranged into Calendars that provide a motivational focus for a period of approximately 4 weeks, viewing the relevant calendar will enable you to see the suggested program of daily workouts for that period. Our Flow system is advice for you on which calendars to complete in which order. Choosing the Flow appropriate to you (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Prenatal, Postnatal) will guide you into the appropriate flow of calendars.

We are excited to have so many of our beautiful studio clients sign up for FFAH. The best way to use the monthly workout calendar is to follow it exactly as prescribed and skip the suggested work out on the days that you visit the studio. If you are training towards a goal or want to push yourself a little more, you can follow the calendar exactly and double up on the days you are in the studio.

Make sure that you are using the exact same email address that you used to subscribe with. Double check the spelling to ensure no mistakes.

Swiss ball size is determined by height. When seated on the ball, hips and knees should be parallel to the floor (or hips slightly higher - never lower - than knees). You might need a larger ball if your legs are proportionally long for your height.

If in doubt, buy the larger ball and, if necessary, adjust the diameter by inflating it to less than maximum size.

Your HeightBall Size (max. height/diameter):
4'8" to 5'3" 55cm (21 in.)
5'3" to 6'0" 65cm (25 in.)
6'0" to 6'7" 75cm (29 in.)
